The 2022 wedding trends you don't want to miss

2022 is fast becoming the year we can all look forward to getting back to normal, and no less so than for those who’ve had to postpone their big day until now. And with things back on track, love is well and truly in the air again which means you can finally look towards the day of your dreams!

The good news is there are some exciting trends emerging for 2022 for those looking to tie the knot. From keeping it simple to getting back to nature here are the key wedding trends you need to look out for to ensure your big day is a perfect one.

Intimate weddings

Whilst we’re glad to see the back of the rule of 15 there is no doubt that intimate weddings are here to stay and there is no better way to make a big impact on a small(er) scale than the pub. Perfectly intimate and budget friendly we have a range of amazing pubs that can cater for your event, whether it’s bespoke private dining for at the Holly Bush in Hampstead or a bohemian dream at Mill in Elstead, we have a huge range of private rooms and spaces for your small but perfectly formed event.

The great outdoors

It’s fair to say we’ve all be spending a lot more time outside lately, which is a habit that’s set to stay. And in line with our newfound love of the outdoors we’ve been making sure that all our gardens and outdoor areas are tip top and looking gorgeous for your event. The Fence in the heart of the city is sure to surprise you guests as one of the only spots with a garden big enough for 200 in the square mile whilst The Anglers set on the banks of the river Thames is steeped in classic riverside beauty and makes for the perfect summer venue –and if you are looking for a spot outside of the capital, look no further than The Bull Hotel in Bridport with its stunning courtyard, The Grand Central and it’s secret rooftop garden or the New Forest set in the heart of the great outdoors – all pubs that provide the perfect outside location for your big day.

Keeping it simple

Simple doesn’t mean basic – when it comes to our pub weddings simple means perfectly done and are what pub weddings are best at. Our teams are experts in events, with designated wedding coordinators, talented kitchen teams, friendly managers and brilliant front of house staff all whom work together to make sure your wedding to-do list stays in one place, so you can relax to enjoy the fun stuff. From enquiry to event, you can rest assured that everything is covered for your Fuller’s big day.

Vintage inspired

What’s not to love about a touch of the whimsical, a nod to the old and a dusting of deliciously decadence when it comes to tying the knot. And if your dress pays homage to the past then what better than a venue that does the same – at Fuller’s we have an abundance of historical pubs including The White Swan date back to the 15th century and The Cams Mill which is a recreation of the original tidal mill which stood in the same spot over 100 years ago, both perfect spots to make sure your day goes down in history.

Who doesn’t love a bit of a theme – but it doesn’t need to be naff, themes can be the perfect way to tie your wedding day together or a fun take on a traditional event. For sporting fans there is no better place than The Pavilion End, a stone’s throw from St Paul’s cathedral, or for nautical lovers - The Still & West with breathtaking views over Portsmouth Harbour.

Love a craft beer? The Hydrant is a must, one of our flagship craft beer pubs in the heart of the city and the ideal spot to wow your guests with one of the biggest beer selections in town!

Love your local

What better way to support your local community than a wedding in your local pub! With over a year of working from home and keeping things local, it’s clear that community is key, and there is no better way to giving back to your proverbial neighbours than raising a glass on your doorstep.

Ethically sourced

All of our menus are made up of only the very finest ethically sourced ingredients and we take great pride of the provenance of our food – with Owton’s Family Butchers producing all our meat on their Hampshire farm and Laverstoke Park Farm producing our dairy products from the herds of Asian water buffalo producing protein-rich and nutritious milk, there is constant thought and consideration from our passionate chefs about every dish on our menu.

A silver lining to a year of having to stay at home is a newfound love of blighty! And with so much beauty on our doorstep, staying close to home is now less of a necessity and more of a pleasure. So, whether it’s premium accommodation for your guests or the dream mini-moon for your post wedding getaway we have an abundance of beautiful hotels for you to choose from.
