When you take your children on a family holiday, you get to see the world through fresh eyes. From exploring sandy beaches and leafy forests, to scrambling across moors and searching for hidden fossils, family escapes are full of moments of fun.

And when you’ve found the perfect place to stay – with spacious rooms, areas for the kids to play and menus made for fussy eaters – it takes away some of the stress, leaving you to make some wonderful, lasting memories.

Fuller’s hotels are close to some of the UK’s top attractions – and we’re experts at helping you and your family to relax. We asked three families that have stayed in our family-friendly hotels about their experiences.

Beautiful bedrooms in beautiful locations

Chloe Ciliberto, the blogger behind Life Unexpected, recently stayed at The White Buck Hotel in the New Forest for a weekend break with her two young children.

“If you’ve never been to the New Forest before, I honestly can’t recommend it enough. It’s perfect for families, for couples or if you just fancied a quiet breakaway,” Chloe explained.

“Even the journey to The White Buck was magical. There were horses wild horses lining the route right up to the hotel gates and when we arrived in the car park, there were also pet horses tied up on a designated spot outside, from where people had ridden over for lunch and a drink in the beer garden.”

Banish boredom

You’ll find Fuller’s hotels in prime locations across the South of England, close to plenty of activities and attractions the whole family will enjoy, perfect for keeping energetic children entertained. From city breaks to seaside retreats, whatever you love to do together, there’s a great family-friendly hotel for you and your loved ones.

Chloe said: “Close to The White Buck we found the famous Beaulieu Motor Museum, Drayton’s Manor (which is home to Peppa Pig World), plenty of farm days out, market towns and cycle trails.”

Meanwhile, Globetotting blogger Katja Gaskell took her three children to The Bull Hotel in Bridport, Dorset, and found plenty to do on the coast.

Katja said: “The area’s home to picture-perfect villages, fish and chips, and beaches that are perfect for swimming. In particular, West Bay is a great place to try crabbing – we spotted plenty of families sitting along the harbour’s edge, tempting crabs with lines tied with sardines.”

The best start to the day

Breakfast is included in the room rate at Fuller’s hotels, which Katja said was a welcome bonus when travelling with three hungry kids.

“A small but generous breakfast buffet includes pastries, cereals, yoghurts and fruit and you can then order something more substantial off the menu. The kids were thrilled with their pancakes and I really enjoyed my smoked kippers with poached eggs,” Katja explained.

A home away from home

Travelling with family means home comforts are just as important as having lots to see and do. So, at Fuller’s we’ve thought of all the little things you need to enjoy a family holiday to remember (for all the right reasons...).

Once you’ve explored the local area and everyone’s tired out, Fuller’s hotels are ideal places to unwind with the kids.

Alex Wing, who stayed at The Cromwell Arms Hotel in Romsey with her husband and three children, said: “There was copious seating available in the pub, as well as numerous deck chairs dotted around. The kids particularly loved the giant garden games, while the dinner menu had something for everyone.”

Katja, commenting on The Bull Hotel in Bridport, said: “It’s not easy to find somewhere that can accommodate a family of five without having to fork out for two bedrooms. At The Bull, however, they have three family rooms.”

And when you book a Fuller’s Beautiful Bedroom, our friendly, helpful staff will make sure you’re taken care of, leaving you to enjoy spacious family rooms, comfy beds made with crisp Egyptian cotton sheets, and bathrooms that can cope with even the messiest bath time...

Chloe said: “We were so surprised by how spacious the family suite was, even with a super king size bed for us, a single bed and a travel cot. The kids enjoyed having a pre-bed splash, and it honestly felt like we had a little spa in our room.

“Overall we had a lovely stay in the New Forest and we really enjoyed The White Buck. There are so many reasons to stay there; not only is it family friendly, but it’s perfectly located, it is perfect to visit all year around, the food is amazing, there are plenty of activities around it and quite simply, it’s just such a beautiful place!”
