Where to celebrate the King's Coronation
With only a few weeks to go until the Coronation there is no better time to start planning your weekend fit for a king. And what better place to raise a glass to King Charles III than in the comfort of your local. We’ve got some amazing events happening across our pubs, from live music and street parties to Royal themed quiz nights and afternoon teas, meaning that however you want to spend your weekend we can guarantee a right royal time of it!
If you want to be in middle the action head down to the newly opened Admiralty in the heart of Trafalgar square, as the King’s Procession will travel along The Mall, through Admiralty Arch, passing to the south of the King Charles Island statue in Trafalgar Square before turning onto Whitehall. The Red Lion, Westminster couldn’t be closer either so if you’ve not been invited to the Abbey its not a bad alternative!
The Turks Head, Twickenham is planning one big coronation weekend with a huge party that lasts all weekend to celebrate the King’s Coronation. Expect live music, face painters, balloon modelling, big screen coverage and a feast on Saturday. And there will be plenty of fun too at The Scarsdale Tavern, Kensington with a Coronation street party including live music, DJ, art corner King portrait competition, a Royal Bake Off and BBQ!
Over in Richmond, The White Horse May with an evening of live jazz from the incredible Isobel Pearce Jazz Trio – head down to enjoy beautiful tunes alongside their famous steak and wine fit for a king. th will be marking the occasion on Saturday 6
The Hind’s Head, Aldermaston invite you to join them for afternoon tea and Pimm’s galore as you watch this once in a lifetime event on one of their 5 screens.
The Paper Mill, Apsley will be making sure it’s a day to remember on Sunday 7th with a garden part including ‘The Royal Footmen’ street performers, a BBQ and outdoor Aperol and Pimm’s bar – and they don’t stop there with their royal weekend as they invite you to test your brains with quizmaster Neil's pub quiz and become the kings and queens of Hertfordshire's best quiz night on Sunday 8th May.
Meanwhile The White Swan, Stratford-Upon-Avon will be celebrating too with tea and a royal afternoon spread of finger sandwiches, a selection of cakes, scones and unlimited tea and coffee, remember to book early!
Over in Langstone The Ship Inn will be celebration way of culinary delights with breakfast from 10am, a hog roast throughout the day and afternoon tea served from 2pm. The talented Michelle Lewis will be accompanying the day with some amazing live music, all finished with fireworks at 8.30pm by the river.
Back up in the capital The Union Tavern, Maida Vale invite you to join them for a delicious brunch while you watch the coronation or why not relax in the beautiful garden of The Hare & Hounds, Osterley, complete with a kids party supplied by tiny tunes followed by live music from Conor Clarke and JO3Y G rounding off the evening with a best of British DJ set!
The Anglers, Teddington have plans for your bank holiday Sunday to be the best one yet with Silver Linings Live and Loud festival on 7th May – their biggest and best event yet with an afternoon of live music in the garden from 4pm including face painting, bubbles, entertainment and much more!
