The Pavilion End hosts Flats & Shanks live with Lawrence Dallaglio
Gearing up for the Rugby World Cup
Preparing to set-off to Japan for the Rugby World Cup, Flats & Shanks headed to The Pavilion End sports bar in St Paul’s, London, for a special live recording of their latest rugby podcast. Tickets sold out for the event within a matter of days, which included a pint of Guinness and finger food.
The show started promptly at 1.30pm, where David and Tom were joined by none other than Lawrence Dallaglio, retired English rugby union player, former captain of England and inductee of the World Rugby Hall of Fame.
The show was centred around all things Rugby World Cup 2019, with plenty of banter, uncensored stories about the antics that happen on tour, and gave a detailed behind-the-scenes view of what it’s really like to play professional rugby – all over a pint (or three) of Guinness.
The last half hour of the show included opening up the questioning to the audience. Of course, the hosts and special guest gave their opinions on who they think will win the Rugby World Cup for 2019, which kicks-off on Friday 20 September.
David Flatman said: “England are good enough to make it into the final and beat New Zealand. Most of all I want New Zealand not to win to make it interesting.”
Lawrence Dallaglio added: “We have eight to nine world class players and we are seriously fit. I think we have the best tight five in the Rugby World Cup, so yes, I think we can win. Billy has to stay fit.”
Rugby chat: Lawrence Dallaglio, Tom Shanklin and David Flatman talk all things Rugby World Cup at The Pavilion End, London.
