Jekyll and Hyde Collaboration Beer to be served
Fuller, Smith & Turner P.L.C., the London brewer and premium pub company, is tomorrow [12 November, 2014] releasing Jekyll & Hyde, a beer that is the result of some combined work between brewing manager Georgina Young and local residents, David and Penny Barltrop.
The Chiswick residents have grown their own hops in their garden to create this new brew. These hops were picked in September and have been drying in Fuller’s hop store ever since to reach optimum flavour.
Local pubs The Mawson Arms, on the Fuller’s Brewery site, and The Cross Keys in nearby Hammersmith, will both receive one firkin of Jekyll & Hyde, which provides up to 72 pints, to serve alongside their other Fuller’s ales. While the pubs will not set a price for the beer, a charitable donation of the customer’s choice will go to Cancer Research UK for every pint sold.
The beer is described as having a distinctive malty base and a rich balance of well-developed hop flavours with a tawny colour. The local hops make the brew especially refreshing with noticeable bitter aftertastes.
Jekyll and Hyde’s first pint will be drawn at 17.00 on November 12, 2014 at The Mawson Arms in Chiswick under the observation of the local residents and Fuller’s staff.
