Cornish Orchards internationally recognised
Fuller, Smith & Turner P.L.C., the London brewer and premium pub company, is delighted to announce success for Cornish Orchards in three different award categories this month [February, 2015]. In the International Cider Awards, Cornish Orchards’ flagship Gold Cider was awarded a Gold medal while the Heritage Cider won a Bronze Medal. Also, Nottingham’s Castle Rock Brewery hosted its Beer of the Year 2014-2015 and awarded Cider of the Year to Cornish Orchards Vintage Dry Cider.
The International Cider Awards form part of the International Brewing Awards and are judged in style categories. Both the entered Cornish Orchards brands had success in the Medium Cider Apple Class and were deemed worthy of a medal due to their fantastic flavour and also their appeal to an international market of cider drinkers.
Castle Rock has run its Beer of The Year awards for 16 years and the event this year was hosted by the brewery’s chairman Geoff Newton in the Canalhouse, Nottingham. Vintage Dry Cider achieved its award through pub customers voting for their favourite guest beers and ciders throughout the year, which in Newton’s words really showed how knowledge and quality is flourishing.
Ian Bray, Managing director of Fuller’s Beer Company said “It is a real joy to see such a wide range of our products receiving success and recognition in different parts of the country. This is testament to everyone’s passion and hard work at Cornish Orchards.”
Head cider maker Chris Newton said: ““We know we make outstanding craft ciders, but it’s fantastic to be recognised by such a respected panel of judges too. These awards make all the hard work worthwhile and are a credit to the whole Cornish Orchards team.”
