Fuller’s launches Vintage Ale 2016

Fuller, Smith & Turner P.L.C., the London brewer and premium pub company, has released its 2016 edition of Vintage Ale, the annual limited-edition brew made using the choicest ingredients from the year. 

All bottles are individually numbered and will be available from Fuller’s Brewery Shop in Chiswick, online at https://shop.fullers.co.uk/products/vintage-ale-2016 and across selected supermarkets.  

The 2016 Vintage Ale (8.5%ABV), is the 20th edition in the range and brings together Marisota malt with classic British hops (Challenger, Goldings and Northdown) and the aromatic Nelson Sauvin hop from New Zealand  - used here both for bittering and as a dry hop. The global combination of ingredients gives rise to a rich and complex amber beer, with aromas of sherry and Cognac, and a flavour profile that picks out toasted grains and sweet cherry Bakewell Tart.

Fuller’s Head Brewer John Keeling said: “Like its counterparts of previous years, this is a truly distinguished bottle-conditioned ale. Each vintage improves in the bottle with time. Bottle conditioning means that a little yeast is left in the bottle, which will mature slowly over the years like a fine wine or whisky - well beyond the 'best before' date that we are obliged to state.”

Also available: Brewer’s Reserve No.5. Aged for 18 months in 30-year-old whisky casks, Brewer’s Reserve No.5 is a full-bodied limited-edition beer, infused with the secrets of whisky-soaked wood. Pouring a dark brown colour, it has a sherry-like aroma with notes of bourbon on the nose, while on the palate, it delivers sweet biscuit, fruitcake flavours and ripe notes of cherry - ending with a warm, smooth and satisfying finish.
