Our structure and our business
Fuller, Smith and Turner P.L.C. (Fuller’s) is a premium pubs and hotels business founded in Chiswick, London in 1845. The Company runs around 400 Tenanted and Managed Pubs and Hotels with a focus on delicious fresh, home-cooked food, outstanding cask and craft ale, great wine and exceptional service. Many of the sites feature individually-designed bedrooms. The Fuller’s pub estate stretches from Brighton to Birmingham and from Bristol to the Greenwich Peninsula. In June 2018, Fuller’s acquired Bel & The Dragon, comprising several stunning country inns and the Company also owns The Stable, a craft cider and gourmet pizza restaurant business with sites in England and Wales. In April 2019, Fuller’s sold its entire Beer Business to Asahi Europe.
Our supply chains
Our supply chains include the sourcing of raw materials and finished products for the purposes of providing food and drink. Some materials come from overseas.
Our policies on slavery and human trafficking
We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business. At its meeting in October 2016, the Board of Directors adopted an Anti-Slavery Policy reflecting the commitment of the business to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our supply chains.
Due diligence processes for slavery and human trafficking
As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate risk we have in place systems to:
• Identify and assess potential risk areas in our supply chains.
• Mitigate the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in our supply chains.
• Monitor potential risk areas in our supply chains.
• Protect whistle blowers.
Supplier adherence to our values and ethics
We have zero tolerance to slavery and human trafficking. We expect the same high standards from our contractors, suppliers and other business partners and we are evolving and updating our contracting processes to include specific prohibitions against the use of forced, compulsory or trafficked labour, or anyone held in slavery or servitude, whether adults or children, and we expect that our business partners will hold their own business partners to the same high standards.
To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, we require our staff to familiarise themselves with our procedures in the identification and prevention of modern slavery and to conduct business in a manner such that opportunity for and incidence of modern slavery is prevented.
We have undertaken additional training in our hotel business to ensure our teams can spot the signs relevant to victims of modern slavery and understand hot to report it for immediate action.
We seek to maintain open communication with our contractors, suppliers and business partners regarding our values and expectations.
This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 28 March 2020.
