Gale’s Prize Old Ale, a Marble and Fuller’s Collaboration
Manchester based brewer, Marble has teamed up with Fuller, Smith & Turner, the London based brewery and pub company to brew four barrel-aged Old Ales, taking inspiration from Gale’s Prize Old Ale. The four beers are; Pinot Noir Barrel Aged [11.6% ABV], Madeira Barrel Aged [10.9% ABV], Barbera Barrel Aged [10.4% ABV] and Bourbon Barrel Aged [10.6% ABV].
Fuller’s John Keeling worked with Marble’s Head Brewer, James Kemp on the project. The beers were all brewed at Marble and were inoculated with the last of the Prize Old Ale brewed at the former Gale’s brewery in Horndean, Hampshire. Fuller’s had stored this batch of beer at The Griffin Brewery in Chiswick since acquiring Gale’s in 2006. The beers are available in bottles, which share Marble and Gale’s branding.
John Keeling, Fuller’s Brewing Ambassador, said: “It was great to work with James on this project. Gale’s Prize Old Ale is a special beer and I’m happy to see its name back on the shelves. Marble is making some fantastic beers and is really not afraid to experiment with beer styles. This makes for some fantastic collaboration beers – we recently worked with Marble on the Fuller’s & Friends project too.”
A limited amount of stock is available in Fuller’s brewery shop, Chiswick and its online shop - https://shop.fullers.co.uk/
