The Saint’s new look & menu

The Saint in Paternoster Square, acquired by Fuller’s last year, has recently had a revamp – resulting in a fresh, new look and an exciting menu.

With the new look of the pub comes extended opening hours, too. The new comfortable and modern décor can now be enjoyed by customers in the morning – with the introduction of breakfast service at The Saint, General Manager Katka Kovacova explained.

“It has maintained its cosy and intimate feel that our customers love, but it’s more colourful, playful and feels warmer. It’s much fresher looking with new paint and furnishings. Improvements have been made to the bar area and we hope it’s even more inviting to passers-by.”

The Saint has already grown a devoted following in Paternoster Square for its premium food and drinks offering, friendly service and sun-soaked outdoor terrace, Katka explained.

“Summer is a particularly busy time of year because our terrace area overlooks Paternoster Square and St Paul’s Cathedral. We’re in a corporate area so we get a lot of local professionals for lunch or after work drinks who are our regulars, and we also get a lot of tourists.”

Now offering breakfast

Katka said the addition of breakfast hours will fill a need in the local area.

“We have never offered breakfast before, and with so many businesses in the area, we are hoping to become the preferred spot for breakfast and coffee for the surrounding offices.”

Head Chef Giovanni Cecere’s new food menu boasts the best of British and European food, including the choice of a light or hearty breakfast, lunch, dinner and nibbles. Only the freshest British produce is used, sourced locally wherever possible from Fuller’s hand-picked suppliers.

The Saint can accommodate large group bookings, and the venue can be exclusively hired for functions, including corporate events and celebrations for 65 guests seated or up to 160 standing.

The Fuller’s touch

Fuller’s acquired The Saint from the We Are Bar Group in June 2018, along with three other sites.

The Saint was the second pub of the acquired group to undergo refurbishment, following The Trinity Bell in Creechurch Lane. Exciting plans are already in motion for the remaining two sites – London Bridge Pub and Bar by The Shard, and Fleet Place Pub and Bar near St Paul’s.

Katka, who has worked at The Saint since mid-2016 and under We Are Bar ownership, said the change of ownership has led to many improvements to the site.

“It’s nice to work for Fuller’s – they invest in their people and their pubs and they really care about the quality of their pub’s and training and development of their staff.

“It has been a really nice transition and I’m excited for the future, especially with The Saint’s new look and opening hours. I’m really excited to see what our customers think of the transformation.”
