Roll Up for the Great Sausage Roll Off


The Red Lion Barnes will once again play host to the nation’s top sausage roll chefs, as we welcome back the Great Sausage Roll Off 2017.

Four the last four years, General Managers Angus & Claire have gathered Head Chefs from across the country, including those from Fuller’s pubs and other high-end restaurants, to compete for the bragging rights to the ultimate sausage roll.

The fifth Sausage Roll Off will be hosted by award-winning beer and food writer Melissa Cole, who will be joined by judges including Mark Poynton, Chef Patron at Restaurant Alimentum, Dan Docherty, Chef Director at Duck & Waffle, and Neil Rankin, Head chef at Temper.

2016’s winning sausage roll was created by Philip Harrison, Head Chef at The Anglesea Arms in Hammersmith, with a pheasant, black pudding and turnip roll.
