Hotel upgrade for The Head of The River

Enjoying a prime location right beside the River Isis, The Head of the River has long been Oxford’s premier waterside retreat. And, having added eight beautiful new bedrooms during a recent refurbishment, the hotel is now able to work its magic on more guests than ever.

In total, there are now twenty bedrooms at The Head of The River, each boasting smart contemporary style, modern luxuries and sumptuous comfort. Some rooms also enjoy the added bonus of blissful river views.

And with a Fuller’s pub and restaurant on the premises, guests are guaranteed to wake up to one of Oxford’s very best breakfasts…

A New Look for the Pub

The pub itself also underwent transformation between January and March 2017, adopting a smart new look that draws design influence from life on the river. Long-established links to river trade are remembered in the pub’s decor, while there’s also a tip of the hat towards Oxford's rowing prestige.

There have been changes to the menu, too - pub classics now mixing with exciting contemporary British dishes that hero smoked, cured, pickled and preserved elements.

For the first time, the pub is also offering that beautiful breakfast to non-hotel guests.

And at the bar? The Head of The River is still the best place for a pint in Oxford, with several craft beer taps added alongside firm Fuller’s favourites. Gin and whisky are here in their plenty too, and there’s a wide array of wines from all over the world.
