Fuller's And Yeastie Boys Collaborate


Whether the weather agrees or not, summer is here. Double Summer, in fact.

We’ve teamed up with New Zealand based brewers Stu McKinlay and Sam Possenniskie (better known as the Yeastie Boys) to collaborate on a special brew: Double Summer.

The dynamic duo are renowned for brewing modern, champion craft beers including their flagship porter Pot Kettle Black.

The recent rise of craft beer in the UK has brought with it a demand for new and more varied beers.

The pairing between New Zealand’s craft beer cult heroes and London’s iconic brewery has the best of both worlds as it blends rich experience, reliably great quality and antipodean innovation.

Double Summer has been launched in time for London Beer City. Fuller’s invited beer-lovers from breweries around the country to a launch event called ‘Brewing With Friends’ at the Hand and Flower. Speakers included our own John Keeling, Stu McKinlay and Sierra Nevada’s Steve Grossman.

Double Summer is an extra pale ale bursting with melon, lychee and passion fruit flavours from the Nelson Sauvin (NZ) and Jester (UK) hops, brewed at 4% ABV for cask and 4.4% ABV for keg.

It has been designed to complement the rest of Fuller’s craft beer range, which includes Frontier Lager, Montana Red, Wild River, Black Cab and IPA.

Both myself and my co-founder have always been huge fans of Fullers beers and grew up drinking the classics. To finally get to meet our brewing heroes, and then to discover they were lovely people who are still very much involved at the forefront of British brewing, has surprised and delighted us. For us, this was the equivalent of a band sharing the stage with their most influential heroes. And, one step better, actually liking them too!

Further brewing collaborations could arise from the success of Double Summer.
