Fresh from the brewery: Christmas and winter beers
Fuller’s has released three limited-edition Christmas and winter beers to help melt away your winter blues.
The days are shorter, the weather is colder, and Christmas is just around the corner – winter is upon us, and so is a new range of limited-edition beers from Fuller’s.
Our seasonal ales appear at pubs throughout the UK for several weeks at a time to help quench your thirst for new, exciting flavours of beer.
Here’s what Fuller’s has brewed specifically for Christmas and winter, but you’ll have to get in quick – they won’t stick around for long…
Snow Globe Spiced Winter Ale
Snow Globe was released on 27 November and is Fuller’s limited-edition spiced winter ale, created specifically for the Christmas season.
At 5.5% ABV, Snow Globe is a spiced winter ale brewed with a blend of spices associated with Christmas time, such as a delicate touch of cinnamon and star anise.
The ale is rich and tawny, combining a blend of malts with subtle spices for a complex, yet not-too-sweet, palate. The sweet and spicy ale will be available from Fuller’s pubs throughout the festive period.
Off Piste IPA
Fuller’s new winter brew has gone 'Off Piste' from the traditional India Pale Ale. It isn't your normal winter beer – it’s a hoppy IPA packed with a big, juicy hop kick.
The pale gold IPA was brewed using lager malt and wheat alongside Saaz, Chinook and Citra hops. The result is a delicious extra pale beer with a strong citrus aroma complemented by an assertive bitter flavour.
Released on 26 November, Off Piste is a brand-new recipe from the brewing team and one of the first beers developed in Fuller’s Pilot Brewery in Chiswick that has been turned into a full-scale brew.
This 4.6% ABV cask IPA is available all winter and can be found in Fuller’s managed and tenanted pubs across the UK.
Back by popular demand, Fuller’s winter beer line-up for 2018 sees the return of Espresso Stout.
Available from Fuller’s pubs during December, Espresso Stout is 5% ABV and is the perfect winter warmer that merges coffee, chocolate and beer.
Brewed using Fuller’s own Brewer Street blend of coffee, five different malts and golden naked oats give the beer its full body, while Sovereign hops lend an earthy bitterness to the brew.
Brewer Street coffee is added to the copper alongside the malts, and more aromatic beans are steeped in the brew during maturation - resulting in a gloriously rich, dark and velvety beer.
