Vintage Ale 2008
A classically British beer
Our 12th Vintage Ale combines two of our favourite English hop varieties, Northdown and Challenger, with floor-malted Maris Otter barley. It’s classically British, and classically Fuller’s.
A year to forget for financiers, 2008 signalled the start of a worldwide recession. The year’s Vintage Ale still represents a great investment though, as it continues to mature over time.
This vintage produces a rich fruit aroma laced with dark orange hop notes. A full luxurious mouthfeel is finished off with satisfying alcohol warmth.
The ultimate beer for a decadent dessert
Golen amber in colour with aromas and flavours of nuts, toffee, caramel and fruit (particularly orange). Its full body will match the dense texture of the pudding with the beers' sweetness complementing the toffee and the overall sweetness in the dessert.
- Ale Yeast
- Malts: Crystal, Pale
- Hops: Challenger, Denall, Fuggles, Goldings, Northdown, Organic First Gold, Target
Hidden in the cellars of Griffin Brewery, twenty fine cognac casks sat silently for a year. Inside them wasn’t brandy, but beer – Fuller’s Brewer’s Reserve No.2 – slowly but surely absorbing luxurious flavours from the solid oak surroundings.
