Made of London Spotlight: The Biscuiteers

Biscuiteers was founded in 2007 by Harriet Hasting and husband Stevie Congdon with the mission statement ‘why send flowers when you can send biscuits instead?’

Using traditional, non-industrialised techniques, the Biscuiteers release seasonal designs to refresh and develop their range continuously.

How do you come up with your unique designs?

We’re very lucky that all of our icers are illustrators, designs or from a creative background, so they can bring in their skills into new designs. Then we turn it into a piece of artwork and make it edible and delicious.

What’s been your favourite London themed biscuit?

We did an amazing London themed display in the Notting Hill store window, where we had huge biscuits in the shape of London landmarks. You can get a lot more detail the bigger the biscuit.

What was the idea of behind the icing parties?

We brought out our book, and it was so popular that we started doing classes. We love to share our skills, and want to encourage people to come in and have a go.

Have you got a favourite spot for a drink in London?

There’s Vagabond across the road from us. They have a great beer garden that’s great to chill out of an evening.
