Fuller’s is giving its full backing and support to a campaign in favour of lowering VAT rates in the tourism and hospitality sector.

The Publican's Morning Advertiser (the main magazine for the pub trade) has launched an official petition calling for a reduction in VAT to 5% for the hospitality industry, and it has gained huge momentum in recent months.

This reduction will make the UK a more appealing and better value for money destination for tourists from around the world.

Over 1,400 people signed up in the first two weeks — but 100,000 signatures are needed to secure a Parliamentary debate on the issue to put the change on the Government’s agenda.

“The reduction of VAT for those in the tourism and hospitality trade is increasingly vital in order to sustain the UK’s fantastic pubs, hotels and restaurants,” said Michael Turner, Chairman of Fuller’s.

“If enough people take a few minutes to sign the online petition, we have a great chance of making our case heard and changing the future of our industry for the better.”

To sign the petition please click the link at the bottom of this page and pass it on to others via email, Facebook, Twitter, Linked-In and any other ways possible.
