Below is a list of beers which our brewing team produce on a seasonal basis. Some may appear every year, while others will be brewed only on very special occasions. Keep an eye on these pages for when each beer is made available, or speak to your landlord/landlady to see what beers they have coming up.
A light zesty ale with a real spring in its step. Brewed to 4% ABV with Nelson Sauvin hops harvested in New Zealand, this wonderful beer has subtle gooseberry flavours which are balanced perfectly with the biscuity sweetness from the English malts.
Brewed with a combination of five different malts, some heavily roasted for a near jet black appearance, Black Cab Stout is 4.2% ABV and beneath its dark exterior features luxurious red berry notes, toasty aromas on the nose and culminates in a dry, bitter finish.
Ascot Tercentenary Ale has been brewed to mark the 300th anniversary of Ascot Racecourse in 2011. The beer is light and refreshing, with a fantastic zing derived form the hedgerow hops. Ascot is also available in bottle from Budgens and selected Waitrose stores.
A rich warming winter ale brewed to 4.8% ABV using only the finest quality malt and hops. The Crystal malts in the brew give a sweet, nutty character, while the Target, Challenger and Northdown hop varieties, help balance this strong, satisfying dark beer.
An autumnal favourite, Red Fox is tawny red in colour and bursting with delicious malty flavours. Brewed with toasted oats which lends distinctive biscuit notes and a mellow aftertaste.
Summer Ale is light, smooth, pale gold in colour, and highly refreshing served chilled. Brewed with malted wheat for crisp, biscuity flavours, and balanced by dry Czech Saaz hops, this excellent ale delivers a wealth of flavours. Summer Ale is an occasional brew, available at selected pubs and events during the summer months.
A rich, warm and satisfying winter ale which owes much of its delicious taste to Prize Old Ale which is carefully added to create a subtle blend of fruity and hoppy flavours
Smooth and satisfying, this example of an historic style of beer derives its rich, chocolatey character from a blend of Brown and Chocolate malts in the brew. Its notable coffee notes and creamy finish make it a wonderful accompaniment to many sweet foods – especially chocolate pudding. 5.4% ABV. London Porter is also available all year round in bottles.
A deliciously nutty, rich and warming ale brewed to 4.8% ABV. Mr Harry is deep amber in colour and packed with raisin and caramel flavours from the Pale Ale Optic malts, which leave a satisfying, soothing finish.
Gales Trafalgar 200 was first brewed in 2005 to celebrate the bicentenary of Nelson’s famous victory. This clean amber ale is edged with delicate citrus notes to create a moreish and satisfying drink. It has an ABV of 4.3%.
Full-bodied premium mild ale brewed to 4.8% ABV with a careful blend of malt and hops for a complex, moreish character that has won this famous ale many awards. The palate is rich with blackcurrant, raisins and raspberry, with citrus notes in the finish.
A classic version of an historic style of ale, brewed to 4.8% ABV. Pale amber in colour and well hopped to leave a pleasant and distinctive bitterness.
Brewed with Crystal malt and a dash of blackberries, Jack Frost delivers a fruity, robust yet refreshing flavour that lingers long on the palate.
A classic English ale brewed to 3.8% ABV with Pale and Crystal malts, English hops and Gales unique yeast. Swing Low has a wonderfully light floral aroma from the finest Goldings hops, perfectly balanced by the malted barley in the brew to create a lovely, refreshing beer.
Hock is a dark mild ale, packed with caramel and nutty flavours. At 3.5% ABV, Hock is a classic old ale - the name of which comes from an old English word for Harvest. English Hock beer predates the German wine of the same name by a few centuries.
Named after Butser Hill, the dominant hill on the South Downs, Butser is a medium strength bitter with a pleasant lightness of touch and good balance. Previously known as BBB, Butser was given its current identity in 1991. Butser is a wonderfully light, thirst-quenching bitter. Brewed to 3.4% ABV, the flavour is well-balanced, with a delicate hop aroma and subtle malt and hop flavours on the palate. We recommend you try it with some cured meat - delicious!

Fuller's Bengal Lancer is a traditional India Pale Ale, brewed using the finest English malt and Goldings hops to evoke memories of the first versions of this pale amber, distinctively hoppy and superbly refreshing style of beer.
India Pale Ale is an historic style of English beer that traditionally was always strong and well hopped, it was first brewed in the 19th Century to refresh the troops in India during the time of the British Empire - perhaps the most famous of these troops being the Bengal Lancers; Cavalry regiments whose dashing exploits have passed into folklore.
A classic, golden, summer ale brewed with a specially selected blend of malted wheat and barley, Saaz hops and Gales unique yeast. Summer Breeze is light, smooth and crisp - highly refreshing served chilled.
